DUB here… Don’t worry if you’re not a UBC student, UBC Basketball games are super cheap for high-paced, exciting, athletic entertainment!

If you’re into sports or beer, then this is your affordable option! After being featured on Whut2do.com, UBC absolutely packed the BEER garden. It was like winning the lottery if you found two empty seats together!  The DUB kept his shirt on this time, but more than 20 were shirt-less! I mean lets be serious, the DUB didn’t want to make anyone jealous…

If you were at the event, you know how exciting environment was – the atmosphere was electric! In the Canada West finals, the T-Birds faced defending CIS Champions, the Saskatchewan Huskies.  With three dunks in the first quarter, you knew it was going to be a great game. The Birds, led by Alex Murphy, took a 9 point lead at half time, only to have the Huskies bring it to within 1 point in the 3rd quarter. An entertaining battle saw UBC pull out the victory with a 107-100 final score.

Now some may be asking how I remember the specifics of this game… I didn’t. I had to look it up. After people hitting the DUB up with free beers left, right and centre, can you blame me?

One of the highlights of the DUBs March….it was madness! Pun intended.

Shout out to seniors Alex Murphy, Brent Malish and Josh Whyte who played their last games at War Memorial Gym. And of course to the always loyal, always rowdy BLUE CREW!
